Dr. Ian Edgerly is an Assistant Professor in the Joint Special Operations M.A. program at the National Defense University’s College of International Security Affairs and a Senior Non-Resident Fellow at the University of South Florida’s Global and National Security Institute. His research focuses on conflict dynamics in sub-Saharan Africa, with particular attention to ethnic violence, Tuareg nationalism, and complexity science approaches to state transformation. A former U.S. Army Psychological Operations and Infantry officer, he previously led the Regional Expertise and Culture program at 1st Special Forces Command and held instructional roles at USASOC and the JFK Special Warfare Center.

Inter Populum: The Journal of Irregular Warfare and Special Operations is seeking book reviews on published works relevant to special operations, irregular warfare, and strategic competition.
