Rameez Abbas is a Professor at the College of International Security Affairs at the National Defense University, where she teaches courses on migration, international relations, and irregular warfare. She has also been Lecturer and Program Coordinator at the MA in Global Security Studies at Johns Hopkins University; and Editor and Publications Manager at the Migration Policy Institute. Dr. Abbas holds a BA in government and politics from the University of Maryland and a PhD in political science from Johns Hopkins. Her current research is about weaponized migration, as well as international cooperation in migration management. Her work has been published in leading journals including Foreign Affairs, International Politics, and the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.
